Two lads. One team. Ten years in the making.
ONZ (formerly GripOnz) was started by Ben & Alex, the founders of NZBootroom — New Zealand's most trusted boot sellers for the past 5 years. We're two young lads from Auckland who met in 2015 playing football for the same school team.

2021 / 2022
Where it started
Sitting in our basement building NZBootroom's website, we started talking about selling more than boots. The idea stuck — we didn't want to resell, we wanted to design and create our own. That's how ONZ was born.
TWO YEARS OF GRIND
How we made it happen
Built gradually while juggling full-time commitments — Alex in Auckland, Ben studying in Dunedin. Regular Zoom calls kept us moving forward, week by week, chipping away at the idea.
SINCE HIGH SCHOOL
Why we started ONZ
NZBootroom began as a small Instagram page reselling boots in our final year of school. We've sold over 1,500 pairs since. Seeing how much the Kiwi sporting community valued a local store they could trust inspired us to go further.
